The 2008 election will be remembered for its history making moments, joe the plumber, palin, and Prop 8. It has been the most contested proposition so far, including viral campaign ads, protests, and two very passionate sides. What is it about this specific issue that has gotten people so fired up? Don't you have anything better to do than trying to convince me and many others that marriage should only be allowed for certain people? If people only dedicated half that time and passion into the environmental propositions, global warming would have been solved by now.
When I see the yes on 8 propaganda, I cannot help but think that these people are backward, barbaric even. How is that different than telling a black man that he cannot marry a white woman? How are we seriously discussing not letting two people marry at this day and age? Have we not advanced as a society, learned from our mistakes, and from history? What is it about two men or two women married that is so disturbing to people? Let people live their lives freely and without constant judgement. Because lets be honest, how does gay marriage personally affect me? In absolutely no way, shape, or form! So why are these people spending all their energy on preventing something that is purely principle based? Get over it!!!
