In an interview with the Anchorage Daily News, Palin blamed her and running mate John McCain's loss on the Republican ticket representing "too much of the status quo." In the article, Palin attributes their loss to Bush's actions and lack of popularity, saying that people saw the McCain/Palin team as a representation and continuation of the past eight years. According to Palin, Americans, wanting change, ran as far away from the Republican party as they could. DUH! Isn't that the natural cycle of politics? One party messes up, angers the American people and the International community, and votes run in the opposite direction of what they did four years prior! That's how (and the only reason why) Bush ever got to be President in the first place. Oh but let's not forget that Palin is "new to DC politics" so maybe this obvious pattern isn't so OBVIOUS to her!
Americans got smart Palin, that's what happened! They finally saw Bush and his team of neo-conservatives for what they really represented. It only took a war, a financial crisis, and eroding connection with the International community for Americans to see the damage that the Bush administration has done to this country. So yes Mrs. Sarah Palin, we, the American people, ran as far away as possible from the party that helped contribute to the United States' downfall. You should only be proud.
In the interview, Palin also criticizes the media for the way she was portrayed as well as the false and "ridiculous" rumors they spread about her. It is in my opinion that, although, the media has a tendency to blow certain issues out of proportion, it is always based on some aspect of the truth. She's refuting these allegations now that she is no longer scrutinized and viewed under a magnifying glass. But where was she during the race? clearly, not defending herself! So maybe reporters did have some valid points about the woman behind The Palin.
