Guess what? Hillary's back!

When inexperience, lack of legitimacy, and lack of popularity won over experience, wisdom, and familiarity, the world was shocked. Nonetheless, Barack Obama's wit and intelligence has won him the democratic party and eventually President of the United States of America. And now it was time to repay Hillary's support and endorsements. By making her Secretary of State, one of the top three cabinet posts, he enables her to remain more than active on the political scene.

So what do supporters think about this? Well, as a long time Hillary supporter I am thrilled that she will have an important say in America's political future. Being a successor to Madeleine Albright and Condoleezza Rice, Hillary is the third woman to serve in this position. It seems only fitting for President-elect Obama to follow this tradition, but not only because she's a woman, but because she is the best person for the job. She has traveled widely as First Lady, established important connection with world leaders, and is highly respected among the international community. And unlike Sarah Palin, throughout her primary campaign, no one questioned whether she was qualified to be President. Hey, if the woman was qualified to be President, she is surely qualified to serve under him!

Contrary to Condoleezza Rice, I believe Hillary Clinton will not be afraid to state her mind, and oppose Obama if needed. His motto has always been wanting people to challenge him and his opinions, not be afraid to stand up against him. Hillary will surely not be too afraid to serve that role. the former White House assistant said Clinton mastered "a lot of the intricacies of these issues before ever joining the Senate's Armed Services committee. She's tough; she had meetings with some Prime Ministers and Presidents where she had to deliver some blunt messages for us."

Appointing Clinton into such a position shows Obama's willingness to build a government made of all different types of politicians and personalities, including former opposition. Hopefully, she could bring the same passion for her new position as she did for the previous ones, and, more importantly, continue to fight for health care and other issues that she served as an advocate for.
